• Search and find the products you want to promote based on (price, availability, demand and competition?
• Advertise the products online. (auctions or your own website)
• After the sell of a product you then submit the order to the dropship company and they will package the item and ship it to your customers address.
What type of people use dropshipping?
The obvious advantage to using the dropship method is the fact that you do not have to maintain any inventory that would clutter your house. You don't need to purchase any storage facility or warehouse so your overhead is completely eliminated. This can mean a lot to the bottom line.
There are a many people using this type of service to provide a great income. People using these companies can take advantage of having thousands of products to sell in their online auction campaign or for use in flea markets. Some of the more advanced users will develop a website that is promoting only items purchased through dropship companies.
What are the disadvantages?
The problem most people have using this system in an online auction would be finding the correct products to sell and finding the best dropship companies to work with. Some of the companies will charge a one time setup fee. There is also the dropship fee typically charged on each item. This is a charge by the supplier for the labor of packaging and shipping individual items. They also have a flat fee for shipping individual items based on weight and dimensions.
There is a lot of competition in this market now so you need to spend a great deal of your time searching the product offerings and pricing to make sure you pick the best products to promote.
